Container Loading for PET Preforms: Estimating Your 40ft Shipment

Preforms ship in cartons on pallets; the count that fills a 40ft container drives your freight and landed cost. Getting it right early avoids half-empty containers and surprise per-unit costs.

The basic math

boxes = annual units ÷ pieces-per-box; pallets = boxes ÷ boxes-per-pallet; containers = units ÷ units-per-40ft. Delta publishes verified packing for every SKU.

Don’t forget packaging overhead

A carton’s gross weight includes cardboard and dividers, not just resin. On a typical CSD preform that’s roughly 8–9 % of gross weight — real mass you pay to ship. The Container Calculator shows both per-unit net/gross and the packaging share of a full shipment.

FOB and ports

Delta exports FOB Alexandria to 25+ markets across Africa, MENA and Europe. Each SKU page lists per-40ft, per-20ft and per-truck quantities so you can plan ocean and land freight together.
